Are you a fan of fans being fanned by the fantastic Dyson Fan fan?

dyson-fan-pr-1If you’re anything like me, you’ll be relieved to hear today’s Dyson announcement about bringing air-multiplication to the mainstream.  This country was built on such great endeavours; just look at the water punctuation of the 30s or fire division pioneered by Sir Henry Johnstead back in the 1800s.

God Save the Queen!

Anyway, what’s interesting is the brand value of Mr.Dyson that labels him as an inventor.  This new toy is his wonderful invention, like something out of a Roald Dahl book. But if necessity is the mother of all invention, was it really necessary to make a fan that had no blades?

If I created a tool that took a little bit of air and effectively turned it into LOADS, I’d have a more ambitious agenda. Like this:

My Kingdom, my Kingdom! My Kingdom for a hoverboard!

UPDATE: For a real interesting explanation of how the thing works, check out this Pocket-Lint article.
